“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

At a very hostile time for the Church, Peter writes a Second Letter with a final challenge: never stop growing.

In this short study of 2 Peter, like the readers of that day, we’re to be encouraged to keep growing spiritually, guard ourselves against deception, and live with expectancy for Christ’s return. Peter reminds the Church that God has given us everything we need for a godly life, and urges us to build our faith with diligence and maturity. In this letter, he also warns against false teachers who distort the truth and lead others astray, emphasizing the importance of holding firm to Scripture.

Although scoffers may doubt, the Lord is patient, giving time for all to come to repentance. So let’s live a holy, steady, hope-filled life and remember the very precious reason for this Christmas season.
